What Is a Prosthetist?
The prosthetist evaluates, designs, and fabricates prostheses (artificial limbs). The prosthetist works with those who have amputations due to accidents, congenital birth problems, or disabling diseases.
If you need a prosthesis, bring your physician's prescription to our facility where you will work with a prosthetist to design the best one for your needs. Your prosthesis will be fabricated at our facility, where you can receive training on how to use it.
The orthotist/prosthetist is a key member of your rehabilitation team and will work with you, your physician, nurse, physical therapist, and occupational therapist to bring about your continuing development and progress toward recovery.
