Beth Schweizer, MS PT, Ossur
“Rehabilitation for the Individual with Limb Loss”
Beth Schweizer is a graduate of Des Moines University Physical Therapy, 1992. She specializes in outpatient orthopedics, prosthetic rehab, and women’s health. Beth’s primary focus is on building strong bodies, allowing active adults, students and athletes to return to their peak performance or above following injury or illness. She practices in Des Moines, Iowa with Rock Valley Physical Therapy.
Curt Kowalczyk, CO, Ottobock
Curt Kowalczyk, CO is an ABC Certified Orthotist and Clinical Orthotic Manager of North America in Ottobock’s Professional and Technical Services department. He develops and provides orthotic clinical education for custom and off-the-shelf orthoses. Curt enjoys working with customers and their patients to achieve the right design for the right patient. Curt is passionate about advancing the field of orthotics with new product market entries that will enhance patient’s mobility and independence that are currently being developed at Ottobock. He has been an Orthotist for 36 years. His past work experience included Directorships of Orthotics at the University of Wisconsin, and Duke University. He also was a research associate at the University of Minnesota, Biomechanics Lab, Dept. of Orthopedic Surgery.
Bob Meier, CO, BOCO, Allard
“Foot drop Orthotic Management of the Apropulsive Patient”
Bob Meier, President at Kassel Group Inc. has been active in the orthotics, therapeutic exercise and biomechanics fields since 1978, and has been conducting education programs since 1980. His special interest is in functional closed chain biomechanics and muscle function. He has taught numerous courses across Central and North America, Australia and Europe on gait assessment, rehabilitation and orthotics. He holds six patents involving orthotics and applied biomechanics for spine and lower extremity applications.
Michael Tillges, CPO and Steve Tillges, CPO, TCOP

Michael Tillges, CPO, Co-Vice President, is an ABC Certified Prosthetic and Orthotic Practitioner who has worked at TCOP since 2004, initially as a technician. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University and completed the orthotic and prosthetic practitioner programs at Century College. He has over 15 years of experience in the orthotic and prosthetic industry, including 12+ years in patient care. Michael has a vast knowledge in prosthetics and specializes in the MAS and Hi-Fi socket designs for transfemoral amputees, along with the EMS socket design for transtibial amputees. He is cerified in fitting various microprocessor knees along with microprossessor foot and ankle systems.
Steve Tillges, CPO, Co-Vice President, is an ABC Certified Prosthetic and Orthotic Practitioner who has worked at TCOP since 2001. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato and completed the orthotic and prosthetic practitioner programs at Century College. Steve has over 10+ years of patient care experience fitting complex orthotic and prosthetic devices. Prior to becoming a practitioner he worked as a technician for several years. Steve is certified in the Bioness, various microprocessor knees, Triton smart ankle and has a vast knowledge in MAS and Hi-Fi transfemoral socket design and technique. He enjoys helping his patients achieve their ultimate goals by listening to their needs and staying current with the most up-to-date products and technology.
